Disconnecting Your Email Account

You can disconnect your Gmail or Outlook account from Gini at any time. Here's how.

How to Disconnect

  1. Open Gini Help
  2. Tap Settings at the bottom
  3. Tap Email Protection
  4. Tap Disconnect or Disconnect Email
  5. Confirm your choice

What Happens After Disconnecting

Immediately

  • Gini stops scanning your emails
  • We lose access to your inbox
  • The connection token is deleted

Your Email

  • Your email inbox is unchanged
  • All your emails remain where they are
  • No emails are deleted or modified

In Gini

  • Email Protection shows as "Not Connected"
  • Previous flagged email records may remain visible for a while
  • You can reconnect at any time

Removing Access from Google/Microsoft

For extra security, you can also revoke Gini's access from your email provider:

Gmail

  1. Go to myaccount.google.com
  2. Click Security
  3. Under "Third-party apps with account access," find Gini
  4. Click Remove Access

Outlook/Microsoft

  1. Go to account.microsoft.com
  2. Click Privacy > App access
  3. Find Gini Help
  4. Click Remove permissions

This ensures no access remains even if you don't disconnect in the app first.

Want to Reconnect?

You can reconnect your email anytime:

  1. Go to Settings > Email Protection
  2. Tap Gmail or Outlook
  3. Sign in again
  4. Approve the connection
