Signing up for Gini Help is short. There is no password to create and no form to fill in — just your phone number and a code we text you.
What You'll Need
- The phone number you want protected, with the phone in front of you
- A way to pay (whatever your app store already has on file)
That's all. No email address, no password.
Step 1: Download the App
Get Gini Help from the App Store on iPhone, or the Google Play Store on Android. Look for the blue shield.
Step 2: See How It Works
The app opens with a short walkthrough of what Gini does. You can read it or skip past it.
Step 3: Choose Your Plan
Before you set anything up, you pick a plan and confirm the purchase through the App Store, Google Play, or by card.
Some plans start with a free week — see "How the Free Trial Works" to check which, and to understand what happens when the week ends.
Already subscribed on another phone? Tap Already subscribed? on the walkthrough screen instead. That will sign you back into your existing account without paying twice.
Step 4: Enter Your Phone Number
Now you tell Gini which number to protect.
- Enter the phone number, including the area code
- Tap to continue
Enter the number you actually want screened. This is the number your calls will be forwarded from, so it needs to be a phone you use.
Step 5: Enter the Code We Text You
We send a 6-digit code to that number by text. Type it into the app.
Your account is created the moment the code is accepted. That is the whole sign-up.
What Happens Next
Gini walks you through setting up protection:
- Call protection — the important one. You pick your carrier and dial a short code so unanswered calls go to Gini for screening. This takes about two minutes and is what makes the product work.
- Email protection — connect Gmail or Outlook so Gini can flag phishing
- Text protection — let Gini check your texts for scams
You can skip any of these and set them up later in Settings.
Signing In Again Later
If you get a new phone or reinstall the app, tap Sign In and enter the same phone number. We text you a code, and you are back in with all your settings.
Accounts created before we moved to phone sign-in can still use Sign in with email instead, at the bottom of the sign-in screen.
Troubleshooting
"I didn't get the code"
- Wait a full minute — texts occasionally take a moment
- Check that the number you typed is correct, including the area code
- Tap Resend
- Make sure your phone has signal
"The code didn't work"
Codes expire after a few minutes. Tap Resend and use the newest one.
"It says this number already has an account"
You have signed up before. Tap Sign In instead and use the same number — your settings are still there.
