Setting Up Call Forwarding (All Carriers)

Call forwarding sends your unanswered calls to Gini for screening. This guide covers setup instructions for all major phone carriers in the United States.

How Call Forwarding Works

When you set up call forwarding, your carrier redirects calls to Gini's number in certain situations:

  • When you don't answer your phone
  • When your line is busy
  • When your phone is turned off or has no signal

Your phone still rings normally - only missed calls go to Gini.

Gini's Protection Number

All calls are forwarded to: +1 (414) 985-4464

You'll see this number in the forwarding codes below.

AT&T Network Carriers

Includes: AT&T, Cricket Wireless, Consumer Cellular (AT&T), H2O Wireless, PureTalk, FreeUp Mobile

To Turn ON Call Forwarding

Open your Phone app and dial these codes:

To Turn ON Call Forwarding

Boost Mobile

Boost Mobile now runs on the T-Mobile network, so use the T-Mobile codes above:

When to Forward Code to Dial
All Calls *21*14149854464#
When Busy *67*14149854464#
When Unanswered *61*14149854464#
When Unreachable *62*14149854464#

Turn them off with ##21#, ##67#, ##61#, and ##62#.

If those codes don't work

Some Boost lines are still on older equipment that only accepts the Verizon-style codes. If a code above gives you an error, try the Verizon version instead:

When to Forward Code to Dial
All Calls *7214149854464
When Busy *9014149854464
When Unanswered *9114149854464
When Unreachable *9214149854464

Turn those off with *73, *900, *910, and *920.

The Gini app shows you both sets and tells you which to try first.

Straight Talk, Net10 and TracFone

Straight Talk uses a mix of both code styles, whichever network your phone is on:

TracFone lines sometimes have call forwarding switched off at the account level. If none of the codes take, call TracFone and ask them to enable call forwarding on your line — they can do it while you wait.

Step-by-Step Dialing Instructions

  1. Open your Phone app - The regular app you use to make calls
  2. Tap the keypad - Where you dial numbers
  3. Enter the code - Type the full code including * and #
  4. Tap the Call button - The green phone icon
  5. Wait for confirmation - You'll hear a beep or see a message

What Confirmation Looks Like

  • Beep sound - A short tone means it worked
  • "Setting Activated" - Message on screen
  • "Call Forwarding On" - Message on screen
  • Popup notification - Some phones show this

Troubleshooting

"The code doesn't work"

  1. Make sure you typed the entire code correctly
  2. Check that you included all the * and # symbols
  3. Verify you picked the right carrier in the Gini app — the app cannot detect your carrier for you, so if the wrong one is selected you will be given the wrong codes
  4. If your carrier is right and the code still fails, call your carrier and ask them to enable call forwarding on your line. Some prepaid plans have it switched off by default

"I don't know my carrier"

Check these places:

  • Your monthly phone bill
  • Settings > About Phone > Carrier (Android)
  • Settings > General > About > Carrier (iPhone)
  • The carrier name at the top of your screen

"My carrier isn't listed"

If you have a smaller carrier:

  1. Check if they use AT&T, T-Mobile, or Verizon's network
  2. Use the codes for that network
  3. Contact your carrier for their specific call forwarding codes

"Calls still go to voicemail"

  • You may need to contact your carrier to enable call forwarding
  • On iPhone, turn off Live Voicemail first
  • Wait a few minutes after setting up - sometimes it takes time to activate

Disabling All Forwarding at Once

If you need to turn off all call forwarding quickly:

  • AT&T/T-Mobile networks: Dial ##002#
  • Verizon network: Dial *73
