You can permanently delete your Gini Help account at any time. This guide explains what happens and how to do it.
What Gets Deleted
When you delete your account, we permanently remove:
- Your personal information (name, email, phone number)
- All call screening recordings
- Call history and activity logs
- Email protection connections and flagged email records
- SMS protection history
- Your Allow List and Block List
- All settings and preferences
- Any other data associated with your account
What Happens Immediately
When you confirm deletion:
- Your account is deactivated
- You're signed out of the app
- Data deletion begins (may take up to 30 days to complete from all systems)
- Your subscription is cancelled (if active)
- Family members are removed from your plan (if you're a Family Plan owner)
Before You Delete
Cancel Your Subscription First (Recommended)
If you have an active subscription:
- Cancel through App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android)
- This prevents any accidental future charges
- You can still delete your account after cancelling
Export Your Data (Optional)
If you want a copy of your data before deleting:
- Go to Settings > Privacy
- Tap Export My Data or Request Data Copy
- Wait for the export to complete
- Download your data
Understand It's Permanent
Account deletion cannot be undone. Your data cannot be recovered. If you might want to use Gini again, consider just cancelling your subscription instead.
How to Delete Your Account
- Open Gini Help
- Tap Settings
- Tap Security or Privacy
- Scroll down and tap Delete My Account
- Read the information about what will be deleted
- Enter your password to confirm your identity
- Tap Permanently Delete Account
- Confirm one final time
Your account is now scheduled for deletion.
After Deletion
Within 24 Hours
- Your account is deactivated
- You can no longer sign in
- Call forwarding should be disabled on your end
Within 30 Days
- All your data is purged from our systems
- Backups are cleared
- Deletion is complete and irreversible
What Remains
We may retain limited records for legal and fraud prevention purposes:
- Basic transaction records (required for financial compliance)
- Records of any violations (if applicable)
These records don't contain your personal messages, calls, or private information.
Don't Forget: Disable Call Forwarding
After deleting your account, call forwarding to Gini will no longer work properly. Disable it on your phone:
AT&T/T-Mobile: Dial ##002#
Verizon: Dial *73
This ensures your calls go to your regular voicemail instead of to Gini.
Family Plan Owners
If you own a Family Plan:
- All family members lose access when you delete
- They're notified that the plan was cancelled
- They can subscribe individually if they want
- Their data is NOT deleted (only yours is)
Family Plan Members
If you're a member (not owner) of a Family Plan:
- You can delete your own account
- This removes you from the family plan
- The plan owner is notified
- Other family members are not affected
Can I Create a New Account Later?
Yes. Account deletion doesn't prevent you from creating a new account in the future with the same email or phone number. However:
- You'll need to set everything up again from scratch
- Previous data and settings are gone
- You'll start fresh as a new user
